The Australian Handball Federation [AHF]
congratulates the ACT Handball Association for
the success of the u16 National Championships
held in Canberra during 9 – 11, July 2010. The
AHF also congratulates all the events’
participants, officials and supporters.
The AHF is pleased to note the enthusiastic
participation of all the teams; however, there
could only be one winner. The AHF congratulates
New South Wales for winning both the boys and
the girls titles, for three consecutive times.
The NSW girls team had a draw with Queensland
and a win against the Australian Capital
Territory [ACT] team. The NSW girls team
subsequently won the final game which was
against Queensland with the score being NSW
13(9) QLD 6(4).
The NSW boys team proved the strongest team and
won all the games in the competition by a big
margin. The final game was between the NSW and
ACT, with the score being NSW 30(16) ACT 12(6).
At the close of the competition, the team
ranking is as follows:

The top scorers were Laura Ridley of the New
South Wales team and Matt Cechet of the
Australian Capital Territory team. Laura
had a total 26 goals and Matt with a total of
34 goals, from the games they played.
