Australian Beach Handball Teams Set To Storm Oman

Handball Australia is pleased to announce the selection of players for the men’s and women’s beach handball teams has been finalised.   Following the beach national championships and the qualifying tournament held in January 2012 and subsequent series of training camps, Handball Australia Board has ratified the teams’ composition as follows:

Australia will be representing the Oceania Region in the V Men’s and Women’s Beach Handball World Championships, which will be held in the Sultanate of Oman from 8 to 13 July 2012.   Both men’s and women’s teams are in Group A, with the following draw:

Handball Australia wishes all the players and officials a successful and memorable participation in the World Championship.  No doubt the experiences the teams will gain from this significant tournament will benefit the further development of beach handball which is getting more interest in Australia.

Handball Australia wishes to thank Tamas Neukum and the International Handball Federation for their support in the recent training camp held in Maroubra.  This forms part of the preparation of the women's and men's beach handball teams for their participation in the World Championship.

Handball Australia is also proud that Mark Dawson of Queensland Team Handball Association has been selected by the International Handball Federation as a Delegate for the Beach Handball World Championships.  This is the first time that an Australian has been a Delegate for Beach Handball World Championships.
