The second Qualifier match between Australia and
New Zealand was pretty much a repeat of the
first one. Both sides were eager to play a good
game, with the Kiwis chasing a win and the
Aussies wanting to maintain its dominance. The
outcome likewise was mirror of the first game
with Australia winning the second match with
exactly the same score 31:10.

The score board was also opened by same players
of game one – with Team Captain Bevan Calvert
putting one away for the Aussies at 28.44 game
time; with Patrick Whatman responding for the
Kiwis a minute later. From then on, the battle
on the court pretty much engaged the same key
players. Defense on both sides were as
energetic and relentless, and the goalies were
sharp on their toes.

For the first ten minutes, the Aussies continued
to widen the gap with a mixture of brilliant
passes, fastbreaks and brilliant saves by its
Goalkeeper, Vice Captain Ogi Latinovic. Score
then was Australia 8 : New Zealand 1. The next
three successive goals were from the Kiwi’s side
before the Aussies got their rhythm back. The
first half ended with a great pass from Bevan
Calvert which was converted to a goal from shot
