Coaching and officiating training (including refereeing)
Handball Australia seeks to promote high level participation in its officials and coaches as a mean to support our national teams and build further growth from Grassroots development in both Olympic and Beach Handball. Our members regularly participate training session run by IHF trainers, often in conjunction with our major events (in Australia and the Oceania region). In addition we support the accreditation offered by the Australian Sports Commission (ASC).
- Beginning Coaching Handball (Level 1)
This course has a prerequisites of the ASC Beginning Coaching General Principles course, and the Play by the Rules courses. These are free courses and can be found online at the Sports Commission website.
- Intermediate Coaching Handball
This course is current finalising development for ASC accreditation submission

- Introductory Officiating Handball (Level 1)
This course is currently being completed for submission for ASC accreditation. It is a requirement for referees, but also covers two other strands - officiating (table duty), statistics and refereeing, for other officials seeking to build their skills in these areas. This course has a prerequisites of the ASC Introductory Officiating General Principles course, and the Play by the Rules courses. These are free courses and can be found online at the Sports Commission website.
