The men’s and women’s handball teams are preparing in the Czech Republic, ahead of the 2016 Prague Open Beach Handball International Tournament. The teams have swapped the Australian winter for sunny Prague and their first overseas training session of their tour today at Landronka Park. Competing in the Prague Open is part of the Teams’ preparation for the 2016 IHF World Beach Handball Championships following on in Budapest.
Both Australian Beach Handball Men's and Women's teams were drawn in Group A for the World Championship to be held in Brazil.
Conducted by Giampiero Masi, Chairman of the Beach Handball Working Group of the International Handball Federation, and Mr Manoel Oliveira, President of the Brazilian Handball Federation, the preliminary round groups of the Men’s and Women’s Beach Handball World Championships in Brazil (22 to 27 July) were drawn on Friday (9 May) in Recife, the hosting city of the World Championships.
